Think "LAX" and you maybe think of the Flyaway shuttle, fluorescent-lit tunnels, winding security lines, and constant construction, but you probably don't think of art. This video from KCET's Artbound might change that a little; it gives a great overview of the various installations, paintings, and dance—yes, dance—that have already been featured in the airport and in many cases will continue to appear. Despite the allure of digital installations and bold paintings, "Not all passengers are going to look at the art or even have an interest in the art," acknowledges the Airport Art Manager for Los Angeles World Airports (which runs LAX), but "it will still add something to the environment," possibly even creating a little bright spot in the otherwise stressful schlep of airport travel.
