Welcome to Curbed Comparisons, where we explore what you can rent or buy for a certain dollar amount in various LA 'hoods. Is one man's studio another man's townhouse? Let's find out! Our friends at Zumper have helped us out with five listings within $100 of today's price: $3,500.

↑ The charm of this two-bedroom bungalow in Echo Park, near Silver Lake, is almost too much. The glowing kitchen with a quilt-like tile pattern, the stairway to the converted attic, the tree-shaded backyard, the nook-like library with French doors opening to a deck. It's a roomy 1,400 square feet and rents for $3,495 a month.

↑ A first-floor unit a couple blocks from the beach in Venice? Yes, please. In-unit laundry for those beach towels, parking included (!!!), and retro tile accents (pink in the bathroom, sunny yellow in the kitchen) are all part of the deal in this 900-square-foot one-bedroom. It's renting for $3,550.

↑ Spread out in this three-bedroom condo in Studio City. Inside the two-story unit, central air and heat, three full bathrooms, stainless-steel appliances, two parking spots, and in-unit laundry can be found. Rent is $3,600.

↑ A couple blocks south of Melrose and Robertson in West Hollywood, this two-bedroom unit has lovely wood floors, huge windows, two street parking permits, and a breakfast rooms. It's got a WalkScore of 97 to boot. Rent is $3,445.

↑ It's hard to find fault with this three-level townhouse in Silver Lake. With crazy-big closets, blackout window shades, a private two-car garage, and a balcony, this space seems like quite the catch. Rent is $3,500.
