Congratulations, J.J. and Mary, you win one night in the Hotel Espanol for correctly guessing that this building is now the Plaza Firehouse Museum at El Pueblo de Los Angeles,on Los Angeles Street just across from Olvera Street. Built in 1884, the old firehouse was first occupied by a volunteer firefighter brigade; now it's a museum showcasing turn-of-the-century firefighting equipment and a lot less shady-looking than it was in the late '60s.
