Clever Conversion of a 1905 Church in SaMo Asking $3MM

New, 10 comments

If you worship at the altar of clever architecture (or beach proximity), let us introduce you to this 1905 American Gothic-ish church in Santa Monica, just a few blocks from the ocean in Santa Monica. According to the LA Times, the church "was home to the Methodist Episcopal Church, renamed First United Methodist Church, and later served as the Patriotic Hall for the Women's Relief Corps." Owner/SCI-Arc professor Anne Troutman, along with Aleks Istanbullu Architects, converted the old building into a homey-looking three-bedroom, three-bathroom house, which also has a loft space, floor-to-ceiling bookcases, a reading nook, and a fully-landscaped backyard with seating areas and a hot tub. Asking price is $2.995 million.
