Confirmed: Rich, powerful people get what they want. The LA Times profiles Hanjin Group head Yang-ho Cho, whose company owns Korean Air and is developing the 73-story Wilshire Grand tower. Cho seems to genuinely care about Los Angeles and he's often offered his advice to the city's leaders: In 2005, he met with Mayor Villaraigosa and threatened to reroute Korean Air's flights if LAX didn't add gates that could accommodate jumbo jets. Done. On the Wilshire Grand, Villaraigosa says "My relationship [with Cho] over the years had everything to do with how quickly we tried to move that project along." [LAT]
