It's back to the drawing board for a developer hoping to construct a five-story, luxury condo project on the site of a former single-family house in Hancock Park. Neighbors cried foul and went to the city over their objections to the project's size and setbacks—the Historic Preservation Overlay Zone board for the area split 3-3 on approving the plans from developer Morumbila. The HPOZ told the developer that they should revise plans before going any further. It seems likely that at least one story and three units will be sliced off the project, but whatever is decided will have to be approved by the director of city planning.
