BREAKING: There is Precipitation in SoCal Right Now

New, 14 comments

Alert! Alert! Breaking! Don't panic. BUT: there is now precipitation falling on Southern California, according to LA Now and this satellite map we don't entirely understand (color=precipitation, probably?). If you haven't heard (and are still watering your driveway like an asshole), there is a very bad drought on in California; 2013 was the driest year on record and water supplies throughout the state are running dry. Meteorologists predicted "a slight chance of rain" for today and a state waited with bated breath. The sky darkened. A joke Twitter account formed. And finally it has arrived, at least according to satellites and this one tweet that says the CHP spotted a drizzle in Santa Barbara County. In other very important breaking news, Mayor Garcetti announced definitively that he is not a hipster.
