During this past weekend's Day On Broadway, several of the street's historic theaters were opened to the public for tours, and Franklin Avenue got a good look at the interiors of the Palace, Orpheum, Globe, and Los Angeles Theatres, plus the United Artists (currently an Ace Hotel and the toast of the town). While some theaters are obviously more cared for than other and they're all in various states of (dis)repair, getting the public in is the best way to keep people caring about what happens to these golden-age cinemas.
