Beverly Hills is in the process of shuffling some of its key city departments (Public Works, Transportation, and the newly created Capital Assets) in an effort to improve customer service. Beverly Hills follows the trend of other cities in the county, like Los Angeles and Pasadena, which have also recently reorganized city departments with power over the built environment. No word yet on whether the newly organized Transportation Department will continue the city's tradition of resisting transportation investments of every variety, from bike lanes to bus rapid transit to subways.
