Palmer & Krisel Mid-Century in Westwood Asking $1.55 Million

New, 15 comments

This very nice mid-century house on Sunset just east of the 405 was built in 1957 by Southern California architects William Krisel and Dan Palmer, who built single-family homes, developed housing tracts, and designed some gems out in Palm Springs. The duo's houses are characterized by "minimal ornamentation, innovative butterfly roofs, and large glass windows," according to the Getty, all of which are on display here, along with a gray stone wall and exposed beam ceiling. The three-bedroom, two-bathroom house clocks in at 1,948 square feet, sits on .28 acres and comes with a pool, all behind a big gray wall (with the address cheesily written out in glass bricks). The house, with updated kitchen and baths, last sold in 2006 for $1.789 million; it's now on the market for $1.55 million.
