Bird Killers

USC Professor Travis Longcore says the glassy new Otis Booth Pavilion at the Natural History Museum is likely to cause the untimely death of some of the birds drawn to the museum's gardens. A cruel twist of fate. But, he says, "the pavilion is part of a broader problem in Los Angeles ... The city is behind the times when it comes to bird-friendly architecture." Longcore is the same guy who raised concerns about the potentially bird-murdering design of the La Kretz Crossing bridge in Atwater Village. [A/N Blog]
