The Alexandria Hotel, built in 1906 and for a time one of the fanciest hotels in Downtown LA, has been bought by prolific Downtown developer Izek Shomof. The building (which has a separate, inaccessible ghost annex), has been low-income housing for decades now; "Shomof says the building will remain geared toward low-income residents, but he has plans to invest 'millions' into renovating the property and amenities for tenants."
