It looks like Echo Park is getting another clutch of houses on a tiny lot courtesy of the Small Lot Subdivision Ordinance. Developer Planet Home Living, which is building another 15 small lot houses on the nearby Semi-Tropic Spiritualists Tract, is back for more, this time with plans for nine houses on a through lot that stretches from Lake Shore Drive to Liberty Street. Half the lot is undeveloped and the other half is home to an apartment building that's "mostly vacant," according to the Eastsider. The neighbors seem to be on board with the plans for this one--the local neighborhood council's planning and land use committee unanimously recommended it (pdf). The developer is still getting the approvals lined up, but assuming all goes forward, work should begin next spring or summer.
