After the huge earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan in 2011, there were concerns up and down the California coast that the tons of trash that wound up in the ocean were headed straight for us. Turns out, not so much. A scientist at the University of Hawaii explains that "we probably are not going to see a large amount of large objects washing up anymore. It's very complicated.
