HOLLYWOOD: Rao's LA outpost on quiet Seward Street looks about done, judging by new pics. The legendary New York restaurant has just 10 seats, but this West Coast outpost will feature about 95, including an outdoor patio in the back (the Vegas Rao's is even larger, naturally). No definitive word on an opening date, but the staff, led by Eater Young Guns nominee Nicole Grimes, seems to be working furiously.
DOWNTOWN: Revered chef Josef Centeno (Bäco Mercat, Bar Amá) is previewing his third DTLA restaurant just for MasterCard holders starting on September 24. Orsa & Winston will be a small plate Italian restaurant in the former Rocket Pizza on bustling Fourth Street.
ARTS DISTRICT: Mateo Street is getting a Zinc Cafe & Market--a small OC/SD chain--right near Handsome Coffee. Opening in the fall, the market will be similar to Joan's on Third or Dean & Deluca, with upscale groceries and pre-made deliciousness for sale.
