LACMA hasn't come close to finalizing plans for a massive overhaul designed by starchitect Peter Zumthor and can't possibly know yet how they'll affect the neighboring La Brea Tar Pits--which museum head Michael Govan has made clear like a billion times--but County Supervisor Mike Antonovich is still outraged! that he hasn't been briefed on how the plans will affect the tar pits. Fellow Supe Zev Yaroslavsky pointed out that the supes and their staffs have all been invited to view the plan at LACMA, but still the board voted "to ask representatives from both landmarks to present details about the proposal to the Board of Supervisors within the next 45 days." Great work, everyone. Take the rest of the day off. [LAT, previously]
