A little bit later than expected, but work has finally begun on the mixed-use building next to Sakura Crossing in Little Tokyo. Designed by TCA Architects (it's TCA Day around here it seems), the building will have 240 units for rent, 16,000 square feet of commercial space, and public parking. Amenities include "a pool and spa, a two-level fitness facility, club, a rooftop deck and game and café lounges." Developer Sares Regis Group expects the building to open for business in August 2015, and rents for the studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartments will average about $2,400 a month. Joining (mixed-use) Sakura Crossing and the under-construction (mixed-use) Ava Little Tokyo, the new project will complete a block master-planned by TCA years ago, but that had stubbornly remained mostly parking lot.
