After taking detours to the beach and the Miracle Mile earlier this year, CicLAvia is returning to its Downtown roots for its third anniversary event this October 6. The map for the event, which will shut down 7.4 miles of streets to cars and open them to pedestrians and bikers and jump-ropers and so on, has just been released. There is some newness on the route--for one thing, the Grand Park area at the heart of the route will be a pedestrian zone, which'll be nice for those who prefer not being mowed down by bikes. There'll also be hubs at the ends of each spur, in Chinatown, Mariachi Plaza, the African American Firefighter Museum, and MacArthur Park.
