Whole Foods wants to be the grocery store you walk to right before you blow your paycheck on non-GMO fare--it's snagged 42,000 square feet in an under-construction DTLA mixed-user and now the Texas chain wants to be part of a similar, albeit smaller, project in Burbank's Media District, the Burbank Leader reports. There's a community meeting tonight for the Talaria at Burbank project, which calls for 241 luxury apartments, a lap pool with cabanas, and a spin studio atop the Whole Foods, all conveniently sandwiched between Warner Brothers and NBC Studios. Whole Foods proposed a store in the city's Rancho area back in '07, but locals said it would bring traffic and run counter to the calm, equestrian nature of the area. City officials agree the Talaria proposal is more appropriate and pedestrian-friendly, though they haven't confirmed whether Dimples, the good-time karaoke place on Olive, will have to get the boot for it.
