A Banksy Tale

New, 3 comments

In 2008, a gas station owner at Beverly and La Brea was approached by a regular customer named Thierry Guetta who wanted to know if a friend could paint on the station's wall. Thierry Guetta is better known as street artist Mr. Brainwash, the compatriot of most-notorious-street-artist-alive Banksy. Banksy arrived in the middle of the night and painted "Flower Girl," "showing a girl peering up at a security camera sprouting out of a stock." When the business sold, a family member saved the mural and has now put it up for auction. [NYT]
