On Friday, West Hollywood soft-launched The PickUp Line shuttle service running in a four-mile loop down Santa Monica Boulevard, and in case the name didn't give it away, they're going full camp on this one. Well, except for the glaring omission of a disco ball. The adorable trolleys-on-wheels will run every Friday and Saturday from 8 pm to 3 am, and they will blast beats by local DJ Derek Monteiro; riders can also take photos in the onboard "photo booth," the PickUp Shot (too much, maybe). Rides are free and come with perks for local businesses including The Abbey and Hugo's. Official service for the six-month trial run begins this coming Friday. For now the city is paying, but if everything goes well during the pilot program, WeHo will look into finding sponsors to keep the PickUp going.
