Things are looking bleak for porn purveyors in Hollywood as another of their ranks is readying to disappear. The X-Spot porn shop at the corner of what was once a bustling corner of crud at Hollywood Boulevard and Western Avenue appears ready for demo (everyone wear your full body protection suits when that dust starts flying). Last week we noticed the demo crew had closed off the parking lot and now the front appears to be boarded up too. According to Yelpers, the X-Spot was known for allowing patrons in through a buzzer system, featuring a discount sex toy rack, and "bilingual 'do not masturbate' signs by the quarter booths." According to Yelper Chris G., it was also the porn shop of choice for Charles Bukowski when it was known as Le Sex Shoppe (more on that here).
You may recall that this corner was also the former home of the beloved Thai Hot Dog stand that was demolished in 2011 to make way for a CIM mixed use project that has yet to be realized.
