PASADENA: Everyone's favorite architecture-inspired ice cream purveyor, Coolhaus, is expanding to a new brick-and-mortar spot on 'Dena's Colorado Avenue. The shop is by Design, Bitches, who're responsible for Coolhaus's Culver City store and Superba Snack Shop in Venice.
CULVER CITY: Bucato, a new pasta restaurant in the Helms District, has a very strict no-phone policy. Diners are absolutely not allowed to use cell phones for photos, texting, taking calls, or doing anything else, really. Don't worry, just like smokers, cell addicts can go to designated areas to get their fix.
ALL OVER: Eater has a very useful new list: LA's most underrated restaurants. It's 20 new ideas for places to try, including Pingtung on Melrose, Colori Kitchen Downtown, and Barbrix in Silver Lake.
