Some people in the Valley are wasting no time bringing the torches out against the proposed Il Villaggio Toscano mixed-user in Sherman Oaks, near the 101 and 405. Three homeowners' groups aren't waiting for the City Council to take action on the project; they filed an appeal last week against IVT--an eight-story development with 325 units, 55,000 square feet of retail, and 1,200 parking spots--after just a Planning Commission approval. Surprisingly, the Sherman Oaks Neighborhood Council is a supporter. [Land Use LA]
