The Lowdown: Rhino Records cofounder and philanthropist Richard Foos sold this Spanish estate built in 2002 and designed by Thomas Callaway, one of the 25 most influential interior designers in LA, according to The Hollywood Reporter. It's a luxed-out version of classic design, with "rich hardwood floors, stenciled beams, hand painted tiles," and all the amenities you'd expect--gym, chef's kitchen, library, game room, and pool house. It also has some excellent fireplaces.

Sold for: $6.35 million
Size: There's a 3,650-square-foot house on more than an acre, but more importantly there are renderings of a 20,000-square-foot house on the site.
Location: 1054 Shadow Hill Way, Beverly Hills
The Lowdown: As best we can tell, this likely teardown was designed by one Wallace Neff in 1960 for Mrs. Louise G. Hahn, who owned it until she died. It seems a strange sort of mid-century/Spanish mash up that could use a heck of a makeover, but will probably get a bulldozer instead. The listing included renderings for a 20,000-square-foot house by Bowery Design.
