The Carousel neighborhood in Carson, built on land formerly owned by Shell, was found to be pretty seriously contaminated a few years back and residents think Shell is taking its sweet time doing something about it. City officials agree, much impressing consumer advocate and basis-for-the-movie Erin Brockovich, who says "she has never seen a governmental agency get behind residents in a large contamination case the way Carson has, both by joining the suit against Shell and adopting the urgency resolution."
