Did Uzbeki President's Daughter Buy a $58MM Megamansion?

New, 95 comments

The ever-reliable Real Estalker hears that Lola Karimova-Tillyaeva, "the filthy rich 34-year old youngest daughter of Uzbekistan's autocratic president Islam Karimov," has bought Le Palais, the latest over-the-top megamansion from developer Mohamed Hadid. The house, which hit the market last summer asking $58 million, has definitely sold, but the records are a little opaque--informants tell RE that it went for about $47 million last month. Karimova-Tillyaeva's rumored rental in Beverly Park, meanwhile, is back up for rent (at $100,000 a month).

Hadid is known for his disgustingly opulent and massive megamansions (see: Le Belvedere in Bel Air) and Le Palais is a perfect specimen: it's 48,000 square feet smooshed on 1.09 acres, with seven bedrooms; 11 bathrooms; Lalique-style glass doors and chandeliers; "computer, sound and security technology essential to the most discerning 21st-century lifestyle"; a swan pond; "a pool worthy of royalty"; secure parking for 10 or more cars; formal and informal dining rooms; a bar lounge; a library/office suite; a cavernous kitchen; a 5,000-bottle wine cellar with its own dining rooms; a 150 to 200-person ballroom with a commercial kitchen; a 40-seat screening room; a professional gym; a Moroccan room; a Turkish hammam; and a 3,800-square-foot rooftop deck. According to the listing, "Materials, fixtures and finishes are selected for their historic and cultural resonance and exceptional beauty," naturally.
