Burbank to Get $4.4 Million Bike Trail Connecting to Metrolink

New, 18 comments

Burbank is prepping to build a bike lane connecting the current Lake/Alameda bike path with the Downtown Burbank Metrolink station, the Burbank Leader reports. The city isn't scrimping on the trail, which will include a grade-separated crossing at Alameda Avenue--hence the $4.4 million pricetag. While some are clutching pearls at the cost, Deputy City Transportation Planner David Kriske says the bike lane requires complex ground-leveling and is vital to the city's transpo infrastructure. The bike path will mostly run parallel to the Burbank Channel, a tributary of the LA River, and open in 2016.
