Poor John Parkinson: he designed some of LA's most famous early-twentieth century buildings, including City Hall, Union Station, the LA Memorial Coliseum, and Bullocks Wilshire, but hardly any one remembers the guy. Stephen Gee "was bewildered when I went to the public library and asked for the John Parkinson section and there was nothing, nobody there had heard of him." So Gee wrote a book about him.
