Dirt is definitely moving at the little parcel that once held Westwood's Mann Theater. According to info from last year, developer Ron Simms was planning 34 apartments above 5,000 square feet of retail, with underground parking (we're waiting for a call on whether the look has changed any). The project, which the community apparently approves of, will provide a few dozen more residents to patronize Westwood's struggling storefronts. The whole neighborhood is working hard to reinvent itself as friendly to retail, artists, and pedestrians.
