Buy the 1930 Spanish by Brown Derby Designer Where Counting Crows Recorded Their First Album

New, 15 comments

This lovely 1930 courtyard Spanish home was designed by Carl Jules Weyl, Oscar-winning art director (The Adventures of Robin Hood) and designer of the second Brown Derby restaurant on Vine. One of the first built in Outpost Estates, the four-bedroom house has some fantastic detailing, including hand-stenciled beams in the living room, a plethora of vintage California tilework, and a restored and updated kitchen. There are views, there are terraces, and for some reason there's a pizza oven in the motor court, but why not? Fun bonus for the '90s nostalgists: Counting Crows recorded their debut album August and Everything After in the living room. It's on the market for $2.499 million.
