Sun Valley will have something (more?) going for it soon: the city's largest skate park. Construction started yesterday on the 25,000-square-foot facility, which will feature lots of trees, rails, and a quarter-pipe; it'll open around Thanksgiving. The skate park, paid for by Prop. 40 funds, will cost $2 million to build, but another $2 million was spent to buy the land it sits on--there was originally housing planned for the spot, but the developer went belly up.
