West Hollywood preservationists fighting to save three 111-year-old houses from demolition (for a new residential development) have won the battle, mostly. Last night the city council voted to designate two of the houses "local cultural resources": "With this historic designation, the houses cannot be demolished, but the rest of the property can still be developed.
