Well, it's one of the places television was born--it was home to a young Philo Farnsworth, the inventor of television, who came west with his wife in May 1926. "[I]t's in this first floor apartment where he did the first inventions to create television," according to historian Andrew Carroll (as quoted on KPCC)--for his book Here Is Where: Discovering America's Great Forgotten History, he's ferreted out a bunch of these little historical footnotes. Carroll recently popped by the apartment for a visit; the neighbor ended up yelling to the residents "TV was invented in your house!" Then he probably turned back to his TV and finished the episode of Game of Thrones.
