This month, the private Los Angeles Athletic Club celebrates its hundred-and-first birthday at its current home at Seventh and Olive; earlier this year they freshened things up in the hotel portion of the club with a complete reno of the 72 rooms and nine suites. (The social and athletic club has been open since 1880 but moved to the building in 1912.) The hotel rehab was designed by Tracy Beckmann--each room now has "custom-made furnishings, luxurious bedding, roman shades, flat screen televisions, wireless Internet and original art from the club's historical vault." Stays at the hotel also get you access to the fancy, 80,000-square-foot fitness facility, which includes a gorgeous indoor pool and basketball court. Meanwhile, our pals at Eater LA recently toured some of the club's new dining spaces.
