DTLA Double Marriott Tops Off, Homeowning at the Hammer

New, 82 comments

SOUTH PARK: The double Marriott going up across from LA Live has topped off its 23 floors, according to pics from poster Mojeda101 on SkyscraperPage--the tower certainly adds a nice dimension to views on Olympic. White cladding is quickly climbing to the top floor as well, but the Courtyard Marriott/Residence Inn won't open its 392 rooms until next year. [Curbed Staff]

WESTWOOD: The Hammer Museum in Westwood is in the midst of an interesting exhibit from Olga Koumoundouros called Dream Home Resource Center (the artist previously occupied her neighbor's abandoned house in Glassell Park for another piece). Koumoundouros's current work "addresses the immateriality of real estate transactions and the shift from home as emblem of the American dream to house as commodity." As part of the exhibit, which includes a timeline of significant moments in LA real estate history, agents and housing activists will set up shop at the Hammer lobby this week summer to offer free help on managing bankruptcy, foreclosures, and other housing issues.
