HOLLYWOOD: Muji's first LA store and US flagship is headed to Hollywood Boulevard this November. The Japanese purveyor of cool, minimalist housewares will reside in the 8,600-square-foot space formerly occupied by the Knitting Factory in the Hollywood Galaxy shopping center.

SHERMAN OAKS: Urban Outfitters opened a massive surplus store on Ventura last weekend. The budget-friendly mecca boasts 10,587 square feet and carries the fast-fashion retail giant's men's, women's, and apartment sale items.
