Biola Gets Its "Jesus Saves" Sign Back, Party at Union Station's Harvey House For LA's Unbuilt Projects

New, 11 comments

LA MIRADA: Biola University has gotten one of its "Jesus Saves" signs back, sort of. The school first put up the signs Downtown in the 1930s (they were moved to the United Artists Theatre building in the '80s; once is still there on top of what will soon be an Ace Hotel)--now they've created a replica on top of a parking structure at their campus in La Mirada. According to a press release, the set-up "includes a giant mesh photograph of Biola's original building in downtown Los Angeles, topped by a working 'Jesus Saves' sign." It was partly founded by the 2013 graduating class. [Curbed Inbox]

DOWNTOWN: Are you psyched for Never Built: Los Angeles, the A+D Museum show chronicling the incredible Los Angeles projects that never quite made it to reality? Then you're definitely going to want to hit the preview on June 20 at Union Station's awesome and currently mostly abandoned Harvey House space. There'll be food from Church & State, Traxx, and elsewhere, and DJs from KCRW, plus sneak peeks at some of the drawings, models, and animations from the show, which opens July 27. All the details are here. [Curbed Inbox]
