Asian Chipotle Hitting Hollywood, USC's New Healthy Option, Glendale's Outback Steakhouse Reviewed

New, 11 comments

HOLLYWOOD: Chipotle founder Steve Ells is rolling out a new order-at-the-assembly-line chain, but this time with Asian food--picture affordable rice bowls rather than overstuffed burritos. The country's second ShopHouse Southeast Asian Kitchen opens July 17 on Sunset, then on the Promenade and in Westwood.

UNIVERSITY PARK: Lots of those USC kids certainly have money, so isn't it about time they had more to spend it on than gross fast food? Danny and Bobby Kronfli think so; they opened a tapas restaurant in the area and are planning on cutting the ribbon on Nature's Brew, a healthy, vegetarian-style eatery, in July. Aside from the nourishing food, good coffee is on the menu.

GLENDALE: LA Weekly food critic Besha Rodell takes a trip to Irony-ville (we think?) and reviews an Outback Steakhouse in Glendale. While she says there's almost nothing about Outback that's Australian, she's satisfied by their shrimp and greasy comfort food--though she felt like hell afterwards.
