LA voters might have passed a ballot measure last month that regulates marijuana dispensaries in the city, but the federal government appears to be having none of it: yesterday 103 pot shops across LA County were targeted with letters warning them to shut down or face asset forfeiture proceedings. Says the US Attorney's Office: Tuesday's "federal actions involve all known marijuana stores in the City of Long Beach; the City of Lancaster; the high desert community of Pearblossom; and the parts of Los Angeles served by the Newton, Rampart and Harbor divisions of the Los Angeles Police Department."
