The Venice Zipline Finally Opens This Month

New, 50 comments

This is shaping up to be the summer all our water-adjacent dreams come true: first the LA River opens up for all manner of fun, and next--by the end of this month--the Venice Beach zipline will open for its three-month pilot program. Wheeeeeee! As you may recall, the project was floated last year and finally approved by the Coastal Commission in February, despite concerns that "screaming zipline riders" would destroy the "serenity" of that oasis of calm, Venice Beach. The line will run from the World Cafe and the basketball courts and cost $20, or $18 if you're a local or transit pass holder. Yo! Venice! noticed that Flightlinez (*that's the company running it) put out a call for artists to contribute work to the area around the line's two towers.
