Convention Center Chronicles

The city looks set to hand control of the LA Convention Center over to LA Live owner/failed Downtown NFL stadium developer/South Park juggernaut AEG, but its lone competitor in the bidding process isn't going down without a fight. SMG has "lodged a formal protest," arguing that "AEG failed to satisfy the city's requirement that potential operators have five or more years experience running convention centers in similar markets. While AEG operates about six convention centers abroad, it doesn't manage any centers in the United States, SMG contends." [LADN, previously]
