DOWNTOWN: The gentrification of DTLA's Grand Central Market marches on with the addition of Valerie, an old-timey diner concept with offerings like Blum's Coffee Crunch Cake and The Brown Derby cobb salad. Opening tomorrow in the center of GCM.
LITTLE OSAKA: Ramen Jinya surprisingly closed recently on the hot Sawtelle stretch, but a new ramen restaurant is decamping from Little Tokyo to take its former space. Daikokuya will open toward the end of June on what is being referred to as Ramen Row.
WEST HOLLYWOOD: WeHo is abuzz over the June 4 opening of Connie & Ted's, a hip seafood shack with a bright, inviting design. Eater snagged some photos and a sneak at the menu, which includes everything from $6 chowder to $60 filet mignon.
