Here Are the 3 Biggest LA Home Sales of the Last Week

New, 15 comments

Listed for: $8.25 million
Listed on: May 31, 2012 (though it's been on and off the market a ton)
Sold for: $9.972 million
Size: Seven bedrooms, eight bathrooms in an 8,015-square-foot house.
Location: 9501 Sunset Boulevard in Beverly Hills
The Lowdown: LA's biggest completed sale last week was at a bankruptcy court. Details are a bit thin on the ground for this one, but the 1951 house sits on more than an acre on the north side of Sunset and comes with a pool and tennis court. Anyone else charmed by that palm-tree-patterned carpet in the bedroom, or is the post-holiday weekend glow clouding our judgement?

Listed for: $12.65 million
Listed on: September 10, 2012
Sold for: $9.97 million
Size: Three bedrooms, three and a half baths in 3,800 square feet on a quarter acre lot.
Location: 1435 Tanager Way, in the Bird Streets
The Lowdown: This little (by comparison) house just missed out on the top spot for the week. A "smashing high-profile Contemporary, with its ultra clean lines has been featured in well-known publications," the property looks to have killer views, but, unless we're confused, a tiny pool that looks oddly like a koi pond.

Listed for: $9.995 million
Listed on: January 6, 2013
Sold for: $8.95 million
Size: 13,053 square feet with seven bedrooms, seven and a half bathrooms set on nearly 22 acres.
Location: 2700 White Stallion Road, Thousand Oaks
The Lowdown: And now for something completely different. This "Rustic Mediterranean" (read: "totally gaudy, with a lot of pale wood") in Hidden Hills has room for horses, 12 cars in the garage, and 500 bottles in the wine closet.
