AMBOY: Hey, what've you got for us today, Kickstarter? Ah, the tale of a man who purchased a town and its sign in the California desert: Juan Pollo restaurant founder Albert Okura bought Amboy back in 2005 and promised to restore and reopen town landmark Roy's Cafe. He's done that, but now there's a Kickstarter to restore and repair Roy's 1959 neon sign, which is visible from Route 66. The fundraisers plan to get it back to "original operating condition."
