Total facepalm at Superior Grocers in Highland Park, which is planning on reworking its cool Googie-style store (designed in 1966 by Ronald Cleveland) into something more "Neo-Craftsman." Thankfully City Councilmember Ed Reyes is now pushing to landmark the building, calling it "one of the few surviving intact examples of Googie Style architecture supermarkets left in Southern California."
