Between 1926 and 1940, Rudolph Schindler designed the Manola Court Apartments for his friend Herman Sachs, a muralist and decorator who designed interiors for many LA landmarks, including the Bullocks Wilshire building, Union Station, and City Hall. Sited on three separate parcels ascending a hillside in Silver Lake, the 16-unit complex went on the market in 2008 for $3 million but failed to find a buyer. Five years later, it's back with an asking price of $2.5 million and a lovely new photo gallery.
