Alameda Square, the enormous pink and beige home of American Apparel, is getting a huge overhaul--the 1916 factory buildings will be remodeled, but Shimoda Design Group has also created plans for "a public green space and a large metal and plastic-clad tent containing glass-enclosed retail stalls." They'll also add shipping containers with more retail and a parking structure on the east of the site "connected to the complex via large, shaft-like, raised walkways." [A/N, image via]
