The LA Times editorial board weighed in on the Barlow Respiratory Hospital's plan to sell off 19 acres to a developer who wants to build 600 residential units on the edge of Elysian Park. Barlow says it's the only way the hospital can stay in business, but "as regrettable as it would be if Barlow were to close, that possibility does not justify an upheaval of the zoning and land-use plans for the Silver Lake, Echo Park and Elysian Valley area."
