SANTA MONICA: Eater has shots of the newly-open Tinga, a Westside outpost of the modern Mexican restaurant on La Brea; food is served until 1:30 am; virtually unheard of in SaMo. A summer opening is expected for brunch and lunch.
NORTH HOLLYWOOD: Lovers of Henry's Tacos failed in their efforts to save the Googie-style stand on Moorpark and it moved its operation to Tujunga. Cactus Taqueria is now setting up shop in the old stand (we'll see how locals take to their new neighbors), while the old Henry's Tacos sign heads to the Valley Relics Museum in May.
INDIO: Everyone with a sundress and a mustache will be in the desert this weekend, as the Coachella festival kicks off tomorrow in Indio. The food situation is hooot, and not just at the Empire Polo Fields--Eater gets you caught up on all the newest hot spots in greater Palm Springs.
